My girls are smart - probably too smart for their own good. There are already a couple of words that my husband and I have had to stop spelling since they understand us!
But even as advanced as they are in their communication skills, they're thankfully still two and a half years old and blissfully innocent of the financial stress spinning around them.
Two weeks ago, Tony lost his job. We've been trying to tighten our belts, cutting where we can. I'm working extra hours and Tony's been watching the girls more often. As far as we can tell, they are clueless as to what is going on. They still get plenty of hugs and kisses. There are plenty of "I love you's" tossed back and forth. Lots of smiles, proud faces and words of encouragement.
Are they going out to dinner? No. Are there trips to Disney? No. Membership in a club with a swimming pool. Not a chance.
Money is great and I certainly want Tony to find a job quickly. But I'll take love any day.
