Welcome to my world of twin girls! It's definitely double trouble but I never forget my double blessings!

Three weeks and counting

Ok, I figured it might last a day or two. A week at the tops. But three weeks later, my twin daughters are still not themselves. Instead of Hannah and Emma, I now have girl-boy twins: Ava and Ryan.

Who knew the impact that watching one episode of Barney would have? I was being a nice mommy and let the girls have a "picnic lunch" in front of the tv three weeks ago. On this episode my girls fell in love with a little girl named Ava and a boy named Ryan.

Thirty minutes later, they had transformed themselves into these characters. No longer were they sisters. They insisted they were brother and sister. And to top it off, my husband and I received new names as well. I'm not sure which is worse. I am affectionately called Barney (please tell me it's not because I am big and purple) and my hsuband is called, well, Grandpa.

You see, on the show, the little boy Ryan is waiting on his Grandpa to come. For days, Emma would act out this scenerio where she was waiting on her Grandpa so they could go to the movies. Poor Tony is daddy no longer!

Every morning I am curious to see if it has passed. "Morning, Emma!' I say. "No, I'm Ryan. Silly Barney, you always forget!"

"Hello Hannah!" "No, I'm Ava. And I'm magic - I can turn into a dog - watch me." And she spins around, gets down on all fours and transforms into a dog.

I guess it could be worse. At least they don't watch the show "Yo Gabba Gabba!"

  1. See this is why you should never allow Barney in your house LOL It is cute though. They'll love this story when you tell their first boyfriends.
