Welcome to my world of twin girls! It's definitely double trouble but I never forget my double blessings!

A Double Dose of Terrible Twos

One of the harder things about having twins is that they are both at the same "immaturity level." What I mean is that NEITHER of them knows how to really express their feelings. So if they both get upset at the same time (which happens a lot at the end of the day), you get one girl whining (Emma) and one girl screaming loudly (Hannah).

If you have just one misbehaving, it's not too hard to focus on that child and redirect her. But when both are acting up, it makes me want to run to my room and hide out! When they are in this type of mood, they seem to feed off of one another and deliberately bother one another! It is amazing that they learn to do this at such a young age!

One of my coping strategies is to take one girl and let Tony take another. Divide and conquer. Most of the time that will work although sometimes they both will still want me. Another way to handle it is to put music on to change the mood - we all dance and seem to get along better. If there is time, going outside is also good - the fresh air can do wonders.

But if none of these work, hiding in my room and eating chocolate doesn't sound so bad!

  1. LOL! I like the hiding out and eating chocolate option! I only have one, but feel that way more often than not!!
